We believe the best photos happen when you’re fully yourself. Here’s a little look into who we are when we aren’t behind the camera!

Ariel

Born in Tijuana, Mexico, and raised between TJ and San Diego, Ariel’s journey eventually led him to the great state of Texas in 2018 (after a short stint in Mexico City). He picked up his first camera at just 13 years old, turning a lifelong passion into a full-time business.

When he isn’t capturing your core memories, you can find him woodworking, camping, kayaking, or whipping up something incredible (courtesy of a brief time in culinary school!). On set, Ariel is always cracking jokes to keep things light. He firmly believes that laughter is the best medicine-and also makes for the best photos.

Olivia

Born in Houston, Olivia moved to Austin in 2019 to attend business school at The University of Texas. With a massive heart for helping others, her ultimate dream is to launch a nonprofit. In the meantime, she channels her incredible organization skills and passion into managing the business side of Ariel Hernandez Photography! When she’s off the clock, she loves cooking, getting lost in movies, and traveling.

Our Story

We met at church back in 2019, but it wasn't until August of 2021 that our friendship sparked into something more. Just three months into dating, we knew this was a "rest of our lives" kind of deal. So, we did what any perfectly sane couple would do: we planned our entire wedding in just two and a half months. (And before you ask—yes, 2.5 months, and no, we weren’t pregnant! We just knew.)

Right after saying "I do," we hopped on a plane to Budapest for four months so Olivia could finish her degree abroad. Now, we’re back home in Austin, deeply in love with life, each other, and the incredible community of clients we get to serve every day.
